2010 Thurs., April 8 8PM – Berkeley, CA
Join Trio Chaskinakuy and musicians from the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra for three special concert events that explore the fascinating intersections of classical and folk music: chamber music from around the world ranging from the 18th century Austro-Hungarian Empire to the high plateaus of the Andean Cordillera. SFCO Composer in Residence Gabriela Lena Frank will talk about her string quartet, Inkarri, and the multicultural forces that underlie her powerful and evocative music. The concert series is part of the SFCO's many and varied efforts to reach new audiences and is funded in part through Meet The Composer's MetLife Creative Connections program and the National Endowment for the Arts.
