Intersection for the Arts Trio Chaskinakuy joins the Del Sol String Quartet to perform new work by Grammy Award winning composer Gabriela Lena Frank.
The Del Sol String Quartet presents the 1st of three events showcasing its creative collaboration with Grammy Award winning composer Gabriela Lena Frank and Trio Chaskinakuy, drawing on ancient and modern idioms from both the western and indigenous Latin American musical traditions. Del Sol and Chaskinakuy will perform the world premiere of new music from Frank's "Tawantisuyu Songbook," written for the combination of string quartet and traditional Latin American instruments. Discussion with the composer and musicians, mingling & refreshments follow the music. The next events in this series will take place in February and April.
